Location: Moorhead, MN
Situation: Existing Nave was expanded by adding two large transepts to each side and the altar area was moved forward into the body of the nave. The existing sound system was dated to the mid -1980s and would not suffice for the expanded area or worship styles.
Solution: Tricorne Audio, Inc. worked along side a consultant to value engineer a system that would maintain excellent speech intelligibility and support a broad range of music. The solution resulted in a dual system where one set of speakers handled the voice aspects of daily mass, the father’s lapel mics and the ambo, while a second set of speakers enhanced the music and children’s ministry. A digital mixer board was also included to allow the sound operators to have various presets for the different weekend masses. This greatly reduced set-up time, increased ease-of-use and allowed the mixer board to be placed in the congregation due to its small footprint.
