Situation: Oak Valley Lutheran church struggled with poor intelligibility and inconsistent volume. Throughout the Sanctuary there were hot spots and dead spots as well as areas that one could understand what was said very well, while other locations it was difficult to hear a single voice. The church was also looking for a system that would provide an easier method of operation for basic services.
Solution: Tricorne Audio, Inc. developed a new sound system utilizing Electro-Voice FRX+ loudspeakers and Biamp digital processing. Utilizing EASE acoustic software Tricorne Audio designed a system that would provide even coverage to all seating areas in the church. The directivity of the FRX+ speakers combined with under balcony speakers insures that every pew in the church has clear intelligible sound. The integration of a Biamp Nexia processor allowed the church to have an easy-to-use “basic” system that integrated with the existing mixer board for larger services. The end result has been consistent, intelligible sound for all services, large or small. The existing equipment was then relocated to the fellowship hall and chapel to provide updated and greatly improved sound quality in those areas as well.

“ Tricorne Audio pleasantly surprised us by guaranteeing they would clean up the sound in our church by a very high percentage after their analysis. People had been complaining that they couldn’t understand me very well during the service (intelligibility). This was frustrating because of the length/depth of our sanctuary. Tricorne resolved that for us. We are not totally biased when we say that Dallas and his crew did a great job helping us resolve our “sound” problems.
