Tricorne Audio, Inc. - Audio and Video Systems Contractor serving North Dakota and Minnesota

Watford City High School Gymnasium

Location: Watford City, ND

Situation: The 20+ year old sound system was no longer providing quality audio to all seating areas and the electronics had become antiquated and unserviceable.  In this highly reverberant gym, good intelligibility was critical as the reverberation times were still near 2 seconds with full bleachers.

Solution: Dallas Anderson, lead designer for Tricorne Audio, Inc. performed an on-site SIA Acoustic Tools analysis and measured the actual reverberation times.  These figures were used to construct an EASE model with 95% acoustical accuracy.  From there a cluster of Electro-Voice EVH and EVF speakers were developed to provide excellent voice and music reproduction while ensuring that speech clarity was maintained, even in a near empty gymnasium.  The old speaker cluster was removed and replaced with a more coherent, compact cluster that provides more focused sound and a cleaner visual appearance.  Biamp digital processing allows for easy to use volume controls, zone selection and system expansion from the owner provide mixing board.  The end result is a well performing, simple to use audio system that everyone can understand.
